Some Music From Dad

As promised, here is a sampling of some of the music my dad has sent me:

Before I received the most recent mix-cd in the mail, my dad sent me this video and a link to some live Coco Rosie.

Scott Dunbar in two different videos. If you guys didn’t already know this, I love the accordion.

Now, I’m a sucker for good beatboxing.
Here’s one my dad sent me:

Sometime last year when I told my dad that I was into Die Antwoord, he responded with these videos of South African dubstep. Here’s the first one from that page. It’s about a widow mourning the death of her husband and trying to bring him back to life:

SPOEK MATHAMBO - WAR ON WORDS from spoek mathambo on Vimeo.

I’m not that into the second song. The third video is the artist talking about some Nike shoes that he’s advertising and his music. Just kinda a fun video.

Finally, a Reggie Watts video that has a Seattle dace crew in the background:

The Wonderful Things My Dad Sends Me

Here are a couple things my dad has sent me. Mostly old stuff, but enjoyable none the less. I'm going to leave out the music stuff he sends. I'll do another post for that (gotta keep things organized, ya know?)

Demon Cat:

Really old Reddit thing:

Mini horror movie my Dad titled "Creepy Kids":

Helping Johnny Remember from ashleigh nankivell on Vimeo.

A little something he titled "Stoner Light Video":

ENVISION : Step into the sensory box from SUPERBIEN on Vimeo.

Weird Star Trek video... It gets the weirdest at the end.

Star Wars remake that uses clips and soundtracks people send in, pasted together, to re-tell the movie. It's fairly strange.

Star Wars Uncut "The Escape" from Casey Pugh on Vimeo.

ok... that's all for now. I'm going to exclude a couple things that are particularly weird. But seriously, my dad's up on his internet so I figured I share some of the gems he has sent me over the last couple years.

Mentor

I wish I had a mentor. I was just reading Reed Stories- where alumni can post their memories.  I've decided that I need to bond with a teacher and see them regularly. I want someone on campus to be supportive of me when I'm doing well and that I'd actually care about disappointing.  I would like some other sense of gratification other than my own relief in finishing an assignment and the "good work" written at the top of a page. I think that these things might make a difference for me at Reed.

Two Hawaii pictures (more to come):
